Gael is the visionary who took DQ switching from fundamental research to an open development framework so that any scientific organization would have the ability to move forward with applied research. Not only did the subsequent relationships result in the fully drawn DQ specification, but DQ was also demonstrated on two long range IoT radios (Zigbee and LoRa), winning IEEE and Google Research Awards for proving a packet overhead reduction from 50% to less than 2%. As a Co-Founder to USC's i3 Consortium for future cities, and in addition to being chosen as a 2019 LA DataCon startup finalist, DQ was published as an Aloha replacement in the 2019 IEEE Access Vehicle Technologies section, with independent simulations in 5G/LTE networks, offering conclusions like "this solution is highly feasible for massive M2M". Therefore, our goal is to partner with any IoT stakeholder interested in improving packet efficiency to ~100%, and we hope to gain additional sponsorship for the DQ Labs at USC, where we will demonstrate the first interoperable and always stable, edge controlled IoT networks for distributed IoT applications. In this DQ future, IoT connectivity will be as easy to access as your car radio can access a radio station, and the IoT will operate at half of today's LTE energy requirement (per bit transferred), while all consumer data will be protected under CPNI.
