Previously Luca worked at Cisco for 13 years where he held many roles from leading L2VPN Pseudowire technology he previously invented to leading a small router hardware development team. He later joined the Cisco mobile wireless group and drove several successful technology
acquisitions for Cisco.
He previously was working at Level3 Communications. He has been involved in the internet engineering task force, and contributed enhancements to the RFC2547 mpls-vpn design.
He is the author of the draft-martini design for transporting layer2 protocols over MPLS core network which became the Pseudowire standard IETF RFC4447.
Luca Martini's specialties include knowledge on routing and switching technology for large scale networks, from IP, Ethernet, MPLS, Pseudowires and VPNs.
